Is it worth getting fired for a blog? Is it still possible?

As a journalist, I always understood that what you write has to be honest and accurate. But in diaries or blogs, often it comes down to perception, which is by definition subjective and usually inaccurate. So that is why anonymity is useful. It doesn’t guarantee accuracy but at least you aren’t hurting anyone with your lack of it.

This is partly why I was intending to write only about my experiences and transformations as a new teacher. But how do you do that when all your experiences are tied to others? Not just the students but fellow teachers?

I am reading the book Petite Anglaise by a blogger I have read for years now. She was fired for her blog that mentioned work. So I am wrestling with this, especially with my last entry which, to me, was very personal – it was hard to write but I felt I needed to get it out.

I am not new to blogging’ but I am new to blogging about something that is so important to me and something I would hate to lose.
